Rethinking the DAO Contributor Funnel
Levels of contribution should be tiered 👇
Users: uses the products or services of the community.
Community Members: The project’s explorers, advocates, and evangelists; members are bullish on the products and vision of the brand and want to contribute.
Contributors: Productive members of the DAO; contributors are involved in the decision-making and creation of products and services of the DAO while being involved in governance.
Teams: Focus on building products and services for the DAO based on what the community has voted on.
🎧 Podcast of the week
Tips DAOs to find product-market fit 👇
Identify the problem, who is going to use and the product or service.
Build the community with shared incentives to help build the product and market it.
Define different roles for different levels of contributors of members within the community: specialized contributors, contributors, avocets, token holders, discord users.
🧪 Experiment of the week
DAO2DAO Chess, an EthDenver hackathon project at the 101 house was featured on Bankless this week! Check out the product and our take below 👇
Engagement is so important for DAOs and this allows for a friendly (or for a bounty) game of chess can fire up a discord. DAO members working with each other can create a stronger bond between DAO members and lead to new ideas.
✨DAO Spotlight of the week
Using the power of web3 tech and community to raise funds for Ukrainian organizations that are helping those suffering from the war in Ukraine.
In light of the ongoing Russian invasion in Ukraine, this week’s DAO Spotlight features UkraineDAO, a DAO raising funds to donate to Ukrainian civilian organizations that help those suffering from the war. The project was organized by Pussy Riot, Trippy Labs, PleasrDAO, CXIP, and Ukrainian humanitarian activists.
UkraineDAO is raising funds through a Ukrainian Flag NFT auction, ending on Tuesday, with a reserve price of 1,000 ETH. You can place an individual bid at the UkraineDAO website, or join the PartyBid.
UkraineDAO is also accepting contributions at ukrainedao.eth, according to an announcement posted to Twitter.
Note: The government of Ukraine is also accepting donations in crypto, as announced on Twitter and confirmed on Etherscan. While these addresses are legit, please exercise caution and follow the advice of Vitalik Buterin: “Continue to be vigilant, and always be slow and careful when sending irreversible crypto transactions.”
💭 Opinion of the week
UkraineDAO is an example of how quickly an online community can organize and contribute to a cause. As these DAOs continue to make a larger impact IRL, more will recognize the power of coordinating a community on the internet.
