â¨DAO Spotlight of the week
A decentralized city built by creators, for creators
Vibe Check: Cabin is a place for internet friends to meet up IRL. The first village node is a 28-acre plot of Texas Hill Country outside of Austin, but the DAOâs ultimate goal is to create a decentralized network of physical collaboration spaces for the web3 community. The DAO just wrapped its second season, and is making progress toward expanding the Cabin network and establishing a physical embassy for DAOs.
Structure: Cabinâs operations are conducted through guilds. The Meta Guild facilitates coordination between the DAOs four other guilds:
Product Guild - builds software for Cabin and other DAOs
Media Guild - produces written material, podcasts, and other content
Placemakerâs Guild - runs programs and operations in the physical world
Community Guild - helps onboard new members and maintain good vibes
Channel Alpha: Cabinâs Discord has a robust onboarding program, so start your journey by progressing through the channels in the đ°The City Gates. Once youâve progressed through the âimmigration proceduresâ and an onboarding call, youâll gain access to members-only channels, including those for each of the guilds. Here are a few key channels to keep an eye on:
The META GUILD channel #đweekly-updates does exactly what the name implies - summarizes the weekly developments in the DAO.
Within đď¸CITY HALL, #đ˘governance-proposals is the spot to keep tabs on the latest proposals up for DAO voting, and #clubhouse is where members go to chat.
Down the Rabbit Hole: There are plenty of ways to learn more about Cabin, including Twitter, the DAOâs FAQs, and the 2022 Roadmap. Cabin also has a podcast series called Campfire as well as a Mirror blog with plenty of great articles and DAO updates.
